Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.  No .PDF files please
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses an 11-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

1.  Please single space all text, and indent the first line of each paragraph.

2.  Use footnotes (no endnotes).

3.  Do not include any headers, footers or page numbers.

4.  Use an 11 point font for all text.

5.  Include at the top of your paper the title in all capital letters and in bold print.  Do NOT put author names in the file or in the file name.

6.  Put all major section headings in all capital letters and bold print, centered in the middle of the page.   Subheadings should be in bold print, aligned with the left margin of the page, and only the first letter of each word should be capitalized. Do NOT use MS Word's section headings--headings and subheadings should be in plain text only.

7.  Position all figures and tables exactly where they should appear in the text, rather than attaching them at the end of the document.

8.  Title your bibliography section in all capital letters and in bold print, as REFERENCES.

9.  Format all references to have a hanging indent, and single spaced.  Leave one blank line space between each reference.  Make certain references are alphabetized correctly.
